Friday 2nd February – ski ***** Morzine in the Alps sunny but cooler.
6 hours 30 mins out, 41.30 knots max, 41 miles covered.
Mag felt absolutely fine this morning so it must have been a 24-hour thing
but Dan has been up being sick in the night and feels like death!! What a
shame when it’s his last day and it is absolutely glorious :( We had
Mick and Pauline’s lift passes as they are not skiing any more. Pauline
gave up a few days ago and Mick’s leg has gone all infected and grotty :(
From his boots rubbing the other day. I borrowed Dans hire skis and boots.
It was absolutely freezing but we had an absolutely wonderful ski as the
snow was a lot better than the other day and the only bad run was the one
back to the apartment which we did first and last thing. A bit bare and
icy :( We had a brilliant time and met Rob, Arlo, Mick and Pauline and the
other skiers, Hannah Elaine Maz and Martin at the indian pistes again. Rob
had hired a push along sledge buggy for Arlo so he didn’t have to carry
him in the sling so it saved his back a bit. Arlo was gorgeous as ever :)
When we got back to the apartment Rob went to take Dan’s skis back and
went to meet the others for pancakes. We stayed at home with Arlo who was
a joy and absolutely wonderful for the whole time. He is waving every time
you say goodbye and even to his shadow this morning. Making lots and lots
of sounds and is absolutely adorable. We had a raclette for tea –
cheese, chacoutrie and left overs basically! Dan poorly all day and Jay
stayed in with him. Everyone did some packing up tonight.
